Download our new publication on adviser recruitment & development

Produced in collaboration with James Wetherall at Wetherall’s, this guide is intended to help those firms who want to grow by recruiting, retaining and developing the best young minds they can find. James has done this expertly over the last few years, so let me place on record here my thanks to him for giving up a significant amount of time helping us to put this together, for the benefit of the wider advisory community.

Recruitment has been one of the main bugbears of advisory firms I’ve spoken to over the past 5 years. Most firms, even those who are ‘good employers’, tell me they can’t recruit good people, and struggle to hold on to them when they do. This guide is an attempt to address that by sharing some of the best practice available, and allowing all businesses to compete for advisers on a level footing.

Within the guide you’ll find more musing - from me, James and others - on why this is an important issue for the profession, how you can recruit effectively, how to develop good advisers, some examples of ‘what good looks like’ and an FAQ section to answer any remaining questions.

We hope you find it useful and if we can help further in this area, or if you have any feedback, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
